Story behind the song
I read the testimony of Norman William who was in an airplane that was in a collision on Tenerife airport some years ago. He survived by claiming the promises of God and through the prayers of his mother. I wrote a poem in response to the testimony and that has become this song.
Lyrics
v1 God's word is full of promises every one is true. No matter what we're facing, there's one there we could use, to preserve our strength in trial, if only we knew. Chorus Resting on God's promises only works if we know them. We need to hear all he said Before we say amen. There's no cause to be concerned, everything's confirmed, if resting on God's word. v2 God's word is full of promises all we need is faith. As long as we have read them we can appropriate, the deliverance God has for us no matter what we face.
