Story behind the song
Verse #1 - History was triggered by an incident where an acquaintance, who has not accepted Christ ran into health issues and the true ramifications of their spiritual state took on a new importance with Eternal consequences. To walk through that Celestial gate and to realize that you will never see that person in the next realm became an unbearable thought. Chorus – A recap of the cross and why a decision is needed. Verse #2 – The simple truth - I know that God gave us free choice to accept or reject him. To live in bondage to our sin, or to be freed from it. Verse #3 - The only opportunity to accept Christ is before you die. There is no second chance. Verse #4 - While the Universal church seems to think that everyone will get into heavens gates, that God just wants to scare folks a little, is just not true. A decision has to be made on this side of the shore, or it will be too late.
