Years ago I wrote this song, only it was written for a woman singer. Today I decided to rewrite the lyrics to suit a man so I could sing it! My pal Ken Lee did the backing!

Story behind the song
The original gal who sang it for me is Joanna McCormick. Unfortunately I have lost touch with her...but what a great voice! That version is called Only A Rose. This song was submitted to EMI, and I am told that it went very high up the ladder before it got rejected. And I am told it was because the original lyrics did not meet their criteria!
