With cat-like reflexes and a heart bigger than Texas, the Philadelphia based band SeeLevel has entered the game. Their sound is a mixture of cutting edge rock and old school hip hop poured through a funk filter. SeeLevel’s message is delivered through vocal arrangements combining singing and rapping. The lyrics hit the crowd on many levels, creating an attention grabbing form of "poetic justice". Recently, one critic summed it up nicely when she described See Level as "Bohemian 311 meets Jimi Hendrix.......made me want to get up and shake my ass." The band is centered around the songwriting partnership of Trex (lyricist, drummer, and human beatbox), RonMan (bass and lead vocals) Rev(Guitar) and DJ Variance (scratch/sample maniac). Most songs start out as either beatbox ideas or bass and drum jam sessions, resulting in music that is designed to make you move and not just stand against the wall. Once the "groove" is identified, the guitar and DJ tracks are added like seasonings to a roast to accent the true flavor.
