Story behind the song
So I was closing at work Friday night and after we finished one of my employees, Deja was waiting to be picked up by her parents, so needless to say I have to wait for her ride to show before I can leave. So at her request, I began to "write some beats" for her to hear. After creating the basis for this songs 16 bar loop in the Nano Studio app on my Iphone, I title it "Waiting" and save the file. I pretty much set it aside and forgot about it till I worked with Deja again on Sunday, and she asks me If finished the song. Since I hadn't, I promised to finish it today, so not being one to break promises, I finished it. So, I tweeked the loop a little in Nano Studio, copied it into Garage Band, added the Vocals (Used Audiobus to run Vio into Garage Band for auto tuned effect). Lastly guitar solo (Stratocaster into Garage Bands sixties Marshall amp sim, with the compressor, Fuzz Delay and Chorus for effects). By the way, you know those add for Android pads that joke that a IOS system can't run multiple apps at a time is bull sh** . You just have to know what you are doing. Using AudioBus, You can run up to 3 audio apps together, plus Audiobus itself for a total of 4 apps at a time. Not to mention, The android operating system fails miserably as far as Audio/Music Apps are concerned. IOS performs incredible for Audio/Music apps are concerned. My Iphone armed with several AMAZING music apps keeps up with many a sophisticated computer recording rig in terms of processing power. Remember everything done on this recording was done on the phone, all the recording, a total off 12 tracks! All the signal processing, multiple instances of Delays, Choruses, Compressors, Pitch Changers, Pitch recognition, Reverb, Synthesizers, Drum machines, Guitar amp Simulators, Guitar Effects Pedals (4) This is a ton of sh** going on all at once, and just to let you know, If I was using outboard equipment to do this, it would fill a room, and be a logistical nightmare to wire it all up. The only thing used besides the Phone was my Guitar and the Peavey Amplink kit witch is just a means to hook the guitar into the Iphone for recording purposes.
