Interesting melody derived in 5ths, and a little counterpoint evident - very medieval in nature! Beautiful strings and flute - enjoyable listening ;^))

Successful call of music of the past .. may be to remind us of the origins of music and development of arrangement .. excellent journey with original instruments
Excellent song, Alexander! The vigil mood of your music is like the song's description. It is easy to listen to and imagine - a perfect contribution for the CBC Fable Song Challenge.

Very nice blend of Salsa and Bossa Nova - excellent work here and maybe a new genre? Nice work Alexander!

This is a very nice, relaxing orchestral piece. It has that fascinating cultural medieval / saxon feel to it. Great!

Very nice medieval like soundscape with exciting textures :o)
A thoughtful piece that works the edges between the familiar and dissonance. Sad but with moments of hope. I like how the high flute arches across the progression below and the stately bass.

A deep and intricate piece - I like the way you used discords which then resolve, and the closeness of the instruments does give it the medieval feel of a small ensemble. Perfect incidental music for a moral play. Nice work!

A really interesting piece of music. Medieval in sound, complex in arrangement, it balances somewhere between beautiful and disturbing. A different approach, but very intriguing!

I read on the previous comments the adjectives "sombre", "reflective", "medieval", and in fact, yes, I agree with. I hear much intrications, not only one melody, but an ensemble of melodic lines that give up a complex image. If I think back to your last challenge submission this is a new "cut" a new "mix" you delivered, very very interesting.

Beautifully stark & moody, and just the right touch of intrigue. Very nice work Alexander.

To me this track sounds like a vigil resembling a heartrending period of time. (is there a fable associated with this piece?). The work is artfully positioned with the woodwinds and brass melodies forwarding the main theme. Love the juxtaposition of the melody lines. Skillfully done and well crafted Alex. I know it takes time to develop the intricacies of melody structure in classical music. Again, a composition well done.
