Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah three of a chosen few
They were handsome and tall, smart and strong descendants of the royal line.
They were chosen by Nebuchadnezzar to eat his meat and drink his wine.
But the boys and a friend named Daniel wouldn’t eat the food from the king.
So they were fed just vegetables and water and they still excelled in everything.
When it came time for examination the boys were at the top of the class.
Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah servants of a God who will last.
Then the king got a foolish notion to erect a great idol of gold
And when the band started to jam only three stood tall and bold.
The king was filled with rage he said we’ll have those boys bound
And if they’re so sure we’ll give em a royal tour of the hottest spot in town.
So the boys looked at one another and knowing what they’re going to say
Our God He can delivery us and if He don’t even that is okay
So the oven was seven times hotter and the boys were thrown inside.
Though I wouldn’t want to be the one to do it cause those guards were burned alive
The king was surely shocked when he looked inside the door he said
I thought we only threw in three but now I’m seeing four
So the boys were let out the oven and as the well known story goes
Only the ropes were burned off their hands there wasn’t even smoke on their clothes
