Story behind the song
As part of my internet collaboration project "Drusilla Online" for hobby musicians, I've come to work with classic rock singer Edward B. Millican III on this song. Originally called "Violence & Silence" with different original lyrics, Ed opted to write his own lyrics and vocal line from scratch. The music is still from the original home-made demo recording in 2005 and wasn't really intended for public display, but ... here it is anyway. Vocals: Edward B. Millican III Electric guitar, drum programming: Andy Jakesch Recording & mixing by Andy Jakesch/Edward B. Millican III
Lyrics
I always tried to escape a life so plain and mundane Knew this could not be my fate Grab it all before it's too late So I clawed my way to the top of the food chain Never knew success could rot the fabric of your dreams away WINTER ON A MIRROR NOW YOU HAVE NO FEAR REALITY'S UNCLEAR DROWNING IN A LIFE OF TEARS Plunged into decadence, using little common sense Everything at my finger tips except discipline and happiness The snow fell before the Fall, 'fore Autumns' paint changed it all Descending on reflective glass Competing with dreams of Midas WINTER ON A MIRROR PARANOIA FEAR REALITY'S UNCLEAR DROWNING IN A LIFE OF TEARS Sniff my mistress, snort shackles and chains 1st time is bliss, then feel the reins WINTER ON A MIRROR NOW YOU'RE FILLED WITH FEAR REALITY'S UNCLEAR DROWNING IN A LIFE OF TEARS Punishment severe with roulette on the Winter Mirror... Ohhh Ohh Oh! ...when you put the straw up to your nose and pull the trigger Written by: Edward B. Millican III
