At just 19 years of age, the South African West Coast is hit with a dynamic conscious sound. Tha Real U, a former "bedroom" DJ (and less frequently a young poet), took a change in music interest and persued his earlier dream of rapping. Freestyling random stuff since age 10, Real U challenged himself to write lyrics and break into the undeground as a Hip-Hop artist after he discovered the talents of rappers Lecrae, Andy Mineo, Trip Lee, Mouthpi3ce & Bizzle. His inspiration is the Lord. His aim in music is spitting truth with a style best described as 'Consciousness & Controversy'. Since his younger age, Real U's motto was "imagine it today, life it tomorrow" - and he clearly states that his not in it for the fame, but one way or another try to bring glory to the Lord's name. His style is often direct or descriptional, with either a fast variable flow, a constent one with an trick in wordplay or a radical style considered to be "no flow" where he speaks a message straight up in poetic form.

Story behind the song
Real U speaks consciously addressing the critics of his so called "Christian Rap." He considers himself to be a Conscious Rapper, with a Christian worldview in this music, yet because of this, minorities questioned the potential in his lyrics, music style and message, stating the negative and that Christian rap is not really worth a listen. Alongside Real U is TiTan Kai who now goes by Young Tyt. The Johannesburg rapper, belongs to a Christian Rap group called UNIQUE, and reflects the inland and innercity rap culture and urban enviroment he lives in by addressing the misconceptions and stereotypes places upon their music and worldview.
