Story behind the song
I studied abroad in London in 2010. I was there for 5 months and my girlfriend was back at school in Syracuse. I loved her more than anything I've ever felt before, so I wrote a poem about how much I missed her. It eventually turned into this song.
Lyrics
(Verse 1): I find my focus all a blur now, time, it makes no sense, I cannot rest while fast asleep, my dreams are too intense. With thoughts of you, my body swells, I quiver and I shake, My stomach and my eyelids melt, I sigh to still the ache. Inhibitions, they desert me, whipped off to the side, So dazed, exhausted, yet alert, I've nothing here to hide. As if they've never kissed before, my lips don't seem to work, Each part of you, I so adore, each sigh, each curve, each quirk. (Chorus): Pounding, pounding, pounding, My heart is bursting, A love astounding; Suddenly immersed in you, you, you. Pounding, pounding, pounding, Concentration cursed, Constantly surrounded by my brain's Pursuit of you. (Verse 2): I've never felt so open, so engulfed in an embrace, Completely wrapped around you, my four limbs have found their place. Hips, they glide like figure eights, such smooth and sultry motion, Your eyes half closed, half gazing at me, scent of suntan lotion. Feel the music pulsing through us, yet I cannot dance, Your eyes are sparkling and I'm frozen, swaying in your trance. Arms around my neck, I'm melting, gasping, lips apart, I'm holding onto you, my love, whose hands hold my heart. (Chorus) (Bridge): And to me, your hair looks perfect when you've just awoken, And to me, your eyes say more than your lips have spoken, And to me, honesty with you comes second nature, As I speak while exploring your every feature. (X2) (Chorus)
