Story behind the song
a long long time ago i had a nightmare that i was lost at sea floating all alone....and in the distance i could see a small island that had a castle on it and i was calling and calling out for rescue but the only living thing on this castles island were wingless eagles.....anyway that dream has always stuck in my memory and i'm not sure why or how the memory popped up in my mind again after such a long time but it did and this is what i wrote...it was one of those ones i had already written down the lyrics a while ago and it didnt see the light of day until ken let me hear his brilliant piece of music that he needed some lyrics for....the j.peg is of ken taken during our tour of chernobyl...lol....jim Sitting strumming one night just after listening to a few bands that sound like other bands who used to sound like other bands. Kinda thought to myself, well why not!? Got into power chord mode and out came the riff. Jim put melody and lyrics on the idea and from that point I knew it wasn't going to be consigned to the endless list of ideas that nearly made it!... ken.
