Story behind the song
You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" is a 1966 hit recorded by English singer Dusty Springfield which proved to be her career record reaching #1 UK and #4 US "Io che non vivo (senza te)" - "I, who can't live (without you)" - was introduced at the 1965 Sanremo Festival by Pino Donaggio - who'd co-written the song with Vito Pallavicini - and his team partner Jody Miller: the song took seventh place at Sanremo and as recorded by Donaggio reached #1 in Italy in March 1965.
Lyrics
Songwriters: DONAGGIO, GIUSEPPE/PALLAVICINI, VITO/WICKHAM, VICKI (Pino Donaggio / Vito Pallavicini / English lyrics by Vicki Wickham / Simon Napier-Bell) When I said I needed you You said you would always stay It wasn't me who changed but you And now you've gone away Don't you see That now you've gone And I'm left here on my own That I have to follow you And beg you to come home? You don't have to say you love me Just be close at hand You don't have to stay forever I will understand Believe me, believe me I can't help but love you But believe me I'll never tie you down Left alone with just a memory Life seems dead and so unreal All that's left is loneliness There's nothing left to feel You don't have to say you love me Just be close at hand You don't have to stay forever I will understand Believe me, believe me You don't have to say you love me Just be close at hand You don't have to stay forever I will understand Believe me, believe me, believe me Arrangement Rod Marcum

Nice work! smooooth vocals as always. Your work always evokes a european feel. This is a great re-thinking of this classic, breaking down into a contemporary beat that works well. Brilliant!

I yust love that seducing and beautyful vibrato in Irene's voice. High quality vocal-performance aswell. Haven't heard the original version but I guess It can't be much better than your's. Production and arrangements sounds great too. Yet another great collab between you two!

It took me some time to realize what the original was sounding like (I didn't read the info on forehand). This is the real Ramolly sound, very different from the original. It's amazing to see how you change existing songs completely. In fact it's a new song with the same lyrics. Good job!
