Story behind the song
I've had this one knocking about for a while - well the idea of the central Spanish Guitar instrumental that follows the tune anyway. The lyrics came out a bit mournful but that's what seemed to fit the mood.
Lyrics
Am Dm7 G Am Am G Am F G Am F E (F E) G D Dm Am G Am F E (F E) Falling through a dream, this scene is over just as it’s begun Falling through a dream it seems I’m never gonna be the one For just a moment there I though my luck had turned But what I thought was love was just concern Falling through a dream, serene contentment is now in the past Falling through a dream my schemes were empty and just couldn’t last I took what you gave and built a house of straw I tried to spin ephemera to evermore Holding on to yearning Though my eyes are burning Was I so undiscerning? true What price now the future Now nothing I can do will suit you Everything seems pointless without you words & music by Martin Stirrup 2011
