Paul Napash, a member of the Cree Nation of Chisasibi in Northern Quebec, has engaged in extensive training to get to where he is now. A multi-talented artist, musician, songwriter, producer and even rapper, Napash has built on his childhood love of music, continuing constantly to hone his craft. One of the instruments he learned was the piano, but he went on to master the guitar, bass, keyboards and drums not to mention vocal techniques and to play in several bands. Eventually, he turned to solo endeavors. “I felt that I could accomplish much more independently,” Napash says. He began to record his own music with a 16-track recording studio, as well, learning the skills behind the music. In September 2012, he had recorded and recently released his debut album titled “Lost” of 10 songs, a danceable, high-energetic, alternative rock album of 500 units to start. The album was produced by Paul Napash and Greg Werthman (Meadow Lane Studio). Napash played all the instruments and used synthesizers on the album. He is now promoting his CD through social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace or his official website www.grsoundstudios.com. It was a great experience for Napash to be featured on both Waskaganish community albums titled “Broken”-2005 and “Rain, songs of hope”-2009, produced by Darryl S. Hester and recorded in Waskaganish, QC. At the end of November 2009, it was a great success for attending Canadian aboriginal music awards, while Darryl S. Hester, the producer of “Rain, songs of hope” was nominated and actually won the music industry award. Not only had the performers done the job, but Napash also helped out with the instruments on the album. Finally, his beat making career in Hip Hop music, he had produced beats and his friend Dan (Aspects), a well-connected artist, sent his beats to established artists such as Bizarre (D12), Young Buck (G-Unit), Hussein Fatal (Outlawz)etc. This happened in 2010 and 2012, and he still does what he does to get noticed in the music industry. “It doesn’t matter which status I get recognized first, as an artist or as a producer” says Napash. He hopes that any possible record deal opportunity will come to him soon. More information is available by visiting www.grsoundstudios.com and www.myspace.com/pnapash
