Lyrics
"Route 66" Gary S Paxton/Dan Adkins Gary S Paxton Publications Inc./BMI Song Factory Nashville/BMI administered by Bill Gaither Copyright Administration Verse 1 There's a book that's a letter A library so divine 27 in the new and in the old, 39 It's a sweet love letter From the heavenly Father on high Well, you don't have to read it But it sure helps a lot if you do It's a cosmic Highway And it's the only way through It's a map to the home of the stars Way up in the blue Chorus Get your heavenly kicks on Route 66 Get your spiritual fix on Route 66 There are two ways; High or Low Take the high way when you go You've got to travel Route 66 Verse 2 I hope you've got your ticket 'Cause the bus is getting ready to go There's a ticket in the book If you just take a look you'll know Are you rapture ready? Are you bloodwashed white as snow? There's a right way that's narrow And a wrong way that's easy and wide But many are they who ain't gonna make it inside It's that highway to heaven A glorious galactic ride Chorus Get your heavenly kicks on Route 66 Get your spiritual fix on Route 66 There are two ways; High or Low Take the high way when you go You've got to travel Route 66 Bridge There are 66 books in the book of ages The only route to heaven is in those pages Chorus Get your heavenly kicks on Route 66 Get your spiritual fix on Route 66 There are two ways; High or Low Take the high way when you go Get your heavenly kicks on Route 66 Get your spiritual fix on Route 66 There are two ways; High or Low Take the high way when you go You've got to travel Route 66 You've got to travel Route 66 You've got to travel Route 66
