Just me. Just songs.
I was born with an undiagnosable brain dysfunction, having seizures, and with blue skin dur to oxygen deprivation. I would spend much of my youth on strong, mind-altering medication, I would ultimately end up being declared fully disabled on psychiatric grounds, and I've had to be committed to five different psychiatric facilities in three different states. These days, the primary thrust of my overall creative efforts is the advocacy work that I seek to do for the mentally ill and the mentally disabled. These are my songs.

Story behind the song
This is one of those songs that ended up traveling its own fascinating journey on its way to being fully produced. My good friend, California-based singer/songwriter/musician/producer Donovan Plant, invited me in to help in writing a lyric that he had all ready started. I always love working with Donovan so I readily agreed. We worked on the lyric on and off as our own individual personal projects allowed. I always loved the melody and the gist of the thematic vehicle behind the lyric, so it remained on my mind even when we weren't working on it. Eventually we got the lyric down to our satisfaction and then, through a mutual creative partner, German producer Fabian George became involved. Shortly there-after, the talented Lebaron Pettis began making his own special brand of contributions to the project, lift it up even higher and making it even more fun. This project travelled all the way around the world on its way to being completed and the end-product bears witness to the remarkable journey that it ended up taking. Give "Above It All Love" a listen - you'll be glad that you did.
Lyrics
Above It All Love Verse 1: She saw him pulling in Heard him stumbling up the stairs Closed her eyes and cried For unanswered prayers But not this time She can't look the other way This time...not this time After all the fighting And the words have all been spoken Called her daddy on the tellephone Said daddy your baby's broken Chorus: Above it all love Above it all love Say it's gonna bring you to your knees I know I know it's gonna make you higher No way you're gonna get much higher Say you my momma said She said above it all love Above it all love Verse 2: Her daddy drove on up In the family car alone He said come on girl It's time to take you home Well there's no shame And when he holds her in his arms She cries...yeah He doesn't ask any questions There's no I-told-you-so's She's hurtin' so bad inside And her daddy knows Chorus: Above it all love Above it all love Say it's gonna bring you to your knees I know I know it's gonna make you higher No way you're gonna get much higher Say you my momma said She said above it all love Above it all love Bridge: One love A universal vibration Revise the frequency of salvation Rise up You know you gonna have to stand tall Come and tell them what's above it all Chorus: Above it all love Above it all love Say it's gonna bring you to your knees I know I know it's gonna make you higher No way you're gonna get much higher Say you my momma said She said above it all love Above it all love "Above It All Love" (c) W.
