KaBERTRAM!!! ...it's all about the music.
Welcome to KaBertram!!! - an explosion of sound, motion, entertainment, and talented people from all around the world, all making music together. And if KaBertram! was a hurricane, then Ray Bertram would be the eye at the center of the storm. Ray, a life-long "compulsive writer," started writing at a very age and he's never stopped. When Ray turned his writing in the direction of lyrics in 2008, things really started hopping. Working together with good friend and partner, musician/song-writer/producer and creative genius John Surbaugh, Ray co-founded BCC Global: The Back Country Connection, which made it possible for him to take his writing and cover the world with it. Ray has now seen his writing produced into songs in the United States (Tennessee, California, Ohio, North Caroline, Georgia), Sweden, The Netherlands, South Africa, England, Ireland, Germany, Austria, and beyond. In 2010, Ray and another one of his frequent partners, Swedish singer/musician/song-writer/producer Anders Larson, were signed by the prominent Swedish promotional house, Hit Works, and in the time since numerous of their songs have been placed under contract and aggressively marketed all around the world. And, to date, Ray's writing has been produced into songs covering many genres, including Pop, Euro-Pop, Folk-Rock, Country, Rock-a-billy, Adult Contemporary, Jass/Swwing, Rap, and more. Ray continues to write and to continually direct his creative energies onward and upward, always striving to reach higher and to move in new directions. Story behind the song
I’m happy to be able to share this new song that my good friend Dutch singer/songwriter/musician/producer Johnny Hoeve has just completed around one of my lyrics. Fun story behind this one - writing for me is largely a matter of figuring out where my head is and then simply allowing the rest of me to follow. Most of the time it’s pretty easy…but some times it can be really hard for me to figure out where my head is. One day I couldn’t figure it out at all and, after trying to figure it out really hard for a while, I realized that I couldn’t figure out where my head was at all - so that’s what I decided to start writing about and this piece is what eventually came to happen as a result. I had a good time tossing the lines together and Johnny’s always a lot of fun to work with - we hope that you enjoy the song :-)
Lyrics
Where Is My Head? Verse 1: Where is my head Where is my mind Why are my thoughts So hard to find Can’t concentrate Can’t seem to care All I can do Is sit and stare Chorus: Where is my head Where is my mind I was so wrong I was so blind I didn’t mean The words I said Where is my mind Where is my head Verse 2: Mem’ries of you Mem’ries of me Mem’ries of how We used to be Where is my head I wish I knew I guess it left Along with you Chorus: Where is my head Where is my mind I was so wrong I was so blind I didn’t mean The words I said Where is my mind Where is my head Chorus: Where is my head Where is my mind I was so wrong I was so blind I didn’t mean The words I said Where is my mind Where is my head “Where Is My Head?” (c) 2012 W. Ray Bertram, Johnny Hoeve
