The title track from the debut album. A song with an unexpected, dark mix of rock, pop and psych (with even a little bit of rap at the end without the "attitude"). When was the last time a song made you smile... or laugh?

The vast majority of bands strictly play one style, (with the occasional soft ballad), catering to an already deeply established market of 20-somethings who are generally polarized within just a few simple categories; they either like rap, pop, rock, country western or... there's not much else these days, so the radio wants us to believe. By contrast, Those Beasleys are hard to categorize into one genre. Musically they run the gamut, including elements of psychedelia (without evoking a 60s love-in), rap (without the attitude), pop (there was a time that it didn't mean "Justin Bieber"), good ol' rock and even techno. Be prepared for a wild ride of a head-trip. If you're ready. Those Beasleys were uncool way before it was cool to be uncool.

Story behind the song
The first Beasleys song. At the time we were a trio: - Spike Beasley: bass and percussion - Tex Beasley: guitar - Lovecraft Beasley: vocals Spike Beasley and Tex Beasley worked up an instrumental, based on a mutated "Barney Miller Theme" bass riff that Spike had been playing for years. Tex told Spike to take the track home and see what the feeling of the song was; what the mood of the instrumental was "saying". Spike debuted a rough recording with vocal overdubs that he didn't feel quite "cut it", but Tex loved it. Once Lovecraft began singing it, he added a weird cool rap part at the end. After much developing, the song has devolved into the recording you now hear, with this Beasleys lineup: - Spike Beasley: voice, bass - Tex Beasley: guitar - Sky Beasley: guitar, keyboard - Pancho Beasley: drums
Lyrics
"Eye" (Ferranti / Schulsinger / Wray / Meadows) I- I really love you with my eye. And, I- I really love you with my other eye I- I really love the things you do. And I know you know I, You know I'm so in love with you. (You know I'm so in love with you.) If I'm seen sprayin' by the garden wall and you can catch me by my favorite ball and if you only see I got a oui in my France you're gonna have to catch me first, so- dance, dance, dance! I know- I know you like the way I look. And I, in return, I really like the way you cook! I- I know you like the way I feel. And I know you know I- I dig your little sister's eel. (I really dig yo sister's eel!) If I'm talkin' while I'm sleepin' In those tiny little shoes they sneak, sneak, sneak in, Just a open up the cage and a pop da parakeet in for those tiny little eyes they PEEP PEEP PEEPIN'! If I'm seen sprayin' by the garden wall, If you catch me by my favorite ball And if you only see I got a oui in my France You're gonna have to catch me first, so- Dance, dance, dance. Dance, dance, dance! Dead people shootin' at bugs. Why, why? You want Anita Pye, you want to eat a pie, have illusion of life? Reality is fantasy, reality is confusion: confusin' confusion, confusin' Confucianism, for usin' all the dead people shootin' at bugs! Why, why? I don't wanna die! I don't wanna dye all the rest of my hair! It ain't fair!
