As much cringe as it could bring me, this will remain here... But I will be releasing new material as of 2022 (peep the link) I sing better now, too. Prom
Lyrics
So quick to lay down by her side. Is it faith or love that makes you so blind? Caressing a cheek of innocence, in a world of belligerence, one would have to often choose... To lose.
Romeo, soon you’ll know and understand a term; loyalty.
Romeo, soon you’ll know that nothing is guaranteed.
Romeo, oh Romeo, so quick to lay by her side (through death, through life!)
Romeo, oh Romeo, when will you open your eyes? (She lies, she lies!)
No, you won’t know, why her wants exceeds her needs.
No, you won’t know, why she makes you bleed!
Romeo, you deserve more than this!
Come on, show your bleeding heart you fool.
Come on, show that bleeding heart you fool.
Romeo, oh Romeo, so quick to lay by her side (through death, through life!)
Romeo, oh Romeo, when will you open your eyes? (She lies, she lies!)
Romeo! (through death, through life, she lies, she lies!)
Romeo!
I wrote this song a couple years ago, playing with lower tuning.
When I originally wrote the song, I titled the riff “romeo”
It just sounded so blues orientated and I wanted to make
A love song.
When I got to listening to it, I felt it was too important to be that
So I saved the main riff to come back to it later.
When I finally go around to writing it I was upset with some of the things
Going on with the troops being over seas, which lead me to the theory
Of how they were so closely resembled Romeo, from the Shakespeare play
But more in the nature of the beginning, with Rosaline. How she lead him on
But never gave him the chance of day, or really a reason. This is where the connection
Of the song lies in. That’s why there’s a sample of the gun.
I see Soldiers as people in love with the country, and by means of the leaders
And governing officials, are fed to the lions, but go willingly, without fear.
I whole heartedly support all our armed forces, but they will have to kill me
Before I’ll ever support the government for what they do to them.
This is probably the only political song I’ll do because I left politics a year ago.
I just felt like the troops needed a song that they could connect with other than
“Kicking someones ass”. I could be wrong, though, but never-the-less, it’s done.
