A song I did back in the eighties, when I really dug rockabilly

Artist picture
Rock and roll, pop, and electronica, with some jazz for good measure.
The Michael Erik Band.....hmmmm.....I guess it comes from a place that's hard to define. It's a guitar, a drum, a synthesizer, and a lot of guesswork. I can't really say if any of it is good. But I want to throw it out to everyone....and I do mean everyone. I want to hear the attaboys AND the critics. To tell the truth, I'd like to hear more from the latter. I want to hear what you think I can and can't do. You're the listener. I'm just a legend in my own mind.

Story behind the song
I liked the Nick Lowe song, "I Knew The Bride," because of its humor and sentimentality. I tried to do something similar with this song.
Lyrics
Sweet Daddy Rhythm And Mama Rock and Roll Way back from a time she was my lady She's listen to the radio To Sweet Daddy Rhythm And Mama Rock and Roll Living only but to get our share Of a family affair The only kind we'll ever know The first time I saw her face She was looking at seventeen Driving me and the boys half crazy was a Beach blonde bopping the scene And when I tried to get a bird's eye look at her first Well she loosened up the strings on her purse And she took another dollar while Heading for the record machine To Sweet Daddy Rhythm And Mama Rock and Roll Way back from a time she was my lady she's listen to the radio To Sweet Daddy Rhythm And Mama Rock and Roll Lving only but to get our share of a family affair The only kind we'll ever know Last time I held her hand It was 1973 If you knew me back when you wouldn't think it But the girl had a spell over me And when it cam to rock and rolling all over the place You could tell it by the look on my face It was all that ever mattered And all I ever wanted to be Was Sweet Daddy Rhythm And Mama Rock and Roll Way back from a time she was my lady she's listen to the radio To Sweet Daddy Rhythm And Mama Rock and Roll Living only but to get our share of a family affair Go on and stare 'cause we just don't care We're getting our share of a family affair The only kind we'll ever know Is Rock and Roll
