Story behind the song
Inspired by the Iraq War & the death of my cousin (pictured with Amelia) Flt Lt David Stead who was the pilot of RAF Hercules XV179 KIA above Baghdad on 30th January 2005 together with 8 fellow RAF crew & 1 soldier - David died aged 35 a hero in an unheroic conflict leaving a widow & 2 infant girls. The song was written out of frustration at the impotence/unwillingness (strike out as appropriate) of the UK Parliament, the US Congress & the International Criminal Court's continuing failure to have garnered bollocks large enough between them to apprehend & indict those who sent him & others illegally into harms way, thereby causing a million + unnecessary deaths & destabilizing the region for the foreseeable future... In my considered view the relevant Western powers have absolutely no right to look their Eastern counterparts in the eye until they do so...
