Story behind the song
BC Howell came up with these words in reaction to some rhythm I played on the guitar - It always seemed to work out that way - Just off the top of our heads - I would write music to the words or the words would be in response to the music - Either way, it was magic - Anyway, guitarist Billy Abdo played drum pads over my rhythm guitar and then I added bass and then I promptly shelved it. - Eventually, one day, many years later, I was trying out a new amp and threw together the basic of this "Skwerly Krew" sound and then got some across the pond help from Sarah Mason and some cross country help from guitarist Mike Green and history was made.
Lyrics
I'm Gonna Walk (To The End Of The World)
(Lyricist: BC Howell)
Have you ever been lost - - in a place that was your home?
Did they ever say they loved you - when you saw then goin' on?
Well, I got me a feelin' - Can't see my life for the days
I'm reachin' out for somethin' - What it is, - I can't say
But, I'm gonna walk - Oo, to the end of the world - I'm gonna walk....
Was there ever a person - - who was your truest friend?
But, then you turn to bitterness - and think of moving on?
Well, I got me a feelin' - Can't see my life for the days
I'm reachin' out for somethin' - What it is, - I can't say
But, I'm gonna walk - Oo, to the end of the world - I'm gonna walk.....
Just give me three steps
Well, did you ever get the feelin' - that somethin' else was comin' on?
And did it finally get here - and you just wished it was gone?
Well, I got me a feelin' - Can't see my life for the days
I'm reachin' out for somethin' - What it is, I can't say
But, I'm gonna walk - Oo, to the end of the world - I'm gonna walk....
Take a hike, baby
