Story behind the song
It was written in 60 minutes. Karin asked her friend to give her a number under ten. Five he replied. Well a song in 5-time it will be. Give me a subject she asked him. Boxpok he said! What's that?, Karin asked. It's some kind of train wheel. She found a trainstory on the internet and Boxpok was born. It's also the title of our latest demo!
Lyrics
BOXPOK Left september seventy one and eight to disarm and then reintegrate To look for trains and love along the tracks culture, war and Hermann maurice saxe I took my time evading the police Climbed a bridge with all the Japanese I saw the loc appearing down below It’s one of sixty five as you may know CHORUS: Boxpok! My kind of wheel! Big and black and solid steel! Fed the fire upon the fire crate and poked it up so we would not be late Kept in mind the Ninety seven’s fate while heading for the elevated straight Contrary to what you might expect No explosions, accidents or wrecks All was well when we were driving back and said “Hello” to Gerald on the track CHORUS: Boxpok! My kind of wheel! Big and black and solid steel! BRIDGE: Different wheels on different trains, a different feeling you cannot explain Not any old wheel at any old time can carry her down ‘cross the East German line The bigger she is, the more she can take, built for the ages and never to break oohh!!! No, she will not blow, ‘cause Billy was shown how to keep up a fire a long time ago Spiraling out of the valley below, one eye on the gauge and one eye on the road That curious chime whines in the climb and sings to the rhythm in Boxpok time CHORUS: Boxpok! My kind of wheel! Left september seventy one and eight
