Acoustic middle of the road.
The Bent Strings are: Paul Mckendrick Just a rough mix of songs I wrote and recorded as a hobby. Patience and Persistence are NOT to be under rated. Actually I love the songwriting process, it's recording that I'm not too fond of, but there are usually surprises along the way. Anyone wishing to do a cover, remix, or whatever is welcome and encouraged, just send me an email.

Story behind the song
A friend pointed out that this song could (wrongly) be taken as promoting violence. Explosion is meant as a metaphor to "unjust hard times". Drain the swamp is directed at the people "responsible for" these hard times (wall street for example) and wanting legal action and proper punishment for them.
Lyrics
Standing on the sidelines in this inner city heat I'm seeing all these changes taken place in front of me The money's left the area and the stores are closing down The rich are getting tax-cuts and the poor are gagged and bound It's an Explosion Explosion The jobs have dissappeared, desperation floods the town Sprinkle it with drugs and watch the gangster breeding ground An economic drive-by, maybe we should occupy They rolled the dice, we paid the price for this: Explosion (drain the swamp) Explosion It's an Explosion (drain the swamp) Explsoion There's people joining crowds in a peaceful game of change A union of the minds in a worldwide circumstance An economic meltdown, middle class shakedown They sold the drug, then pulled the plug on this: Chorus And now the families are just scrapping by You can see it in the children's eyes They feel the anger churning They see the streets are burning They wish that they could just, fly away (and come back another day) Welcome to the explosion Explosion It's an explosion Your explosion (drain the swamp)
