Lyrics
“The Silver and the Feed” They’re making and breaking vows And dreaming of blankets made out of clouds But the soles of her shoes touch the dirt on the ground And she leaves the footprints I follow around The silver and the feed Are the fixes that you need So it comes as no surprise to be betrayed But you let me pretend That I am your friend And I’d rather have all that then to be paid Complex tools are the mark of the human race I press my binoculars deep into my face Contraceptives are the instruments of sin I watch you both as you put them on and in It keeps me docile knowing That there’s someone out there who is going To keep a record of how we’ve behaved But you made a sacrifice And compared ol’ Santa Claus to Christ And I’d rather have all that than to be saved
