A mix of Old Testament and my own observations. With a little Springsteen mixed in.
Welcome to the Redneck Biker Blues Band!
Or as my kids call it - R&B Squared.
Story behind the song
I've been watching the news so much lately. Countries can't communicate. The world religions are at odds. It's a battle that has been waging since the crusades and before. These are just my observations. This is not a protest song.
Lyrics
I've never been in your prision, Behind the cold walls of hate. Been shackled, chained or beaten, for another man's faith. I haven't looked in the mirror, seen another man's face. The mark of hope or a sign of redemption, to destroy the pillars we made.
Chorus: We gotta come to our senses now that we're burning. We gotta see one another other with blind faith. It don't matter who you pray to at night while your kneeling. If in the morning the worlds laid to waste.
Half the world wants our blood shed, Don't understand our faith. Thirty-two virgins waiting for you in heaven, to have them you have to pass through hell's gate. All the tanks and the Armour, missles prove your strength. Stand along with your brother, your facing Babel's fate.
Chrous
A man said Blind faith in your leaders will get you killed, we see it on both sides everyday. The cost of freedom is won on the backs of another, the best intentions are lined with the stones of hate. You ask Jesus to come for the man that your killing, you ask Allah to give more to hate. I tuck my kids into bed at night and I'm thinking, I'm pretty god damned sure that they're not safe.
Chorus
