Story behind the song
I really did write my High School Sweetheart a long letter of explanation, which I handed to her at the end of our last date, & the last time that I ever saw her. When I got back from Idaho a month later, she didn't sound too pleased to hear from me. It was gut-wrenching, but I let it go.
