A parody of Stevie Wonder's Superstition
I've been creating all kinds of songs for over 30 years, but I never sell any of them. I try to give them away to charities that have musician spokespeople, but
Story behind the song
I was performing this one in a Karaoke bar, & a lady that didn't know that I changed the words around, shouted out,"Very Rumpelstiltskin???!!!", when I started. ( I was born on Stevie Wonder's 5th birthday. )
Lyrics
Very Rumpelstiltskin,
Your Father made a boast,
Very Rumpelstiltskin,
You do it, or you're toast!
Thirteen pounds of straw sits,
By the spinning wheel,
You've got overnight, Girl,
What a wicked deal!
When the king with the axe,
Says to make gold from flax,
Or he'll snuff her,
Rumpelstiltskin saves the day!
Very Rumpelstiltskin,
He wants it done again,
It's his way of proposing,
What a royal pain!
Me thinks that he scares ya,
But you dare not disobey,
You'll wear a tiara,
'Til your dying day!
When you run out of things,
Like necklace & rings,
What can you offer?,
Rumpelstiltskin takes the babe!
Very Rumpelstiltskin,
He looks just like a gnome,
Very Rumpelstiltskin,
You sneak up to his home.
Peek into the window,
Listen through the glass,
When you hear him singing,
You'll know his name at last!
When he stomps down so hard,
That he sinks through your yard,
In a huffer,
Rumpelstiltskin goes away!
Very Rumpelstiltskin. ( Repeat 3 times )
