If I Were the Sun (full rewrite)
This was one of those songs that refused to settle for "that's OK leave it alone".. I knew we had a good idea here but it was a fight to get through all the rewrites. The posted lyrics show how the song finally ended up after this first recording..

Lyrics
If I Were the Sun
If you were a love song, girl I'd sing all the time
An evergreen forest, I'd go live in the pines
If you were a vineyard, then I'd only drink wine
And if I were the sun, you'd be the reason, I shine
Chorus
But I'm just a singer, and no easy catch
Cause me an' this guitar, we got strings attached
Ya we could both lie, here between these lines
But the truth is girl
Without you nothing rhymes
If you were a highway, girl I'd follow your signs
Caressing those curves, I'd choose yours as mine
If you were a gala, I'd come dressed to the nines
And if I were the sun, you'd be the reason, I shine
Chorus
But I'm just a singer, and no easy catch
Cause me an' this guitar, we got strings attached
We could both lie here, between these lines
But the truth is girl
Without you nothing rhymes
Bridge
Girl you be the reason, an' I'll do the shows
With these songs out on my sleeve
So everybody knows
Chorus
That, I'm just a singer, and no easy catch
Cause me an' this guitar, we got strings attached
Ya we could both lie here, between these lines
But the truth is girl
Without you nothing rhymes
