Minerva came about during the summer of 2006. Band members include Jessica Schollaardt, Leela Aheer and Lauren Ireland. Together these three wrote with fervor infusing their music with complex melodic sections. Before they knew it, they found themselves captivating audiences from all over. They have played over 100 performances in their young history. Minerva’s debut CD was released in November, 2011. The title of this CD is “Follow Me” and that’s what fans did with a feverish abandon, wanting to temporarily experience the joy of Minerva’s delightful music.

Lyrics
Purposely Veiled Words by Jessica Schollaardt Music by Leela Aheer and Lauren Ireland Copyright Minerva (SOCAN) 2011 The day begins we make a choice It’s easier to remain asleep or face what awaits us? Will the veil be lifted? Are we able to stare long enough at the image in the mirror? CHORUS All we see Is a poor reflection Not able to clearly see A blurred vision…a broken image If we could only see Face to face The path we find ourselves on Has become rocky and overrun with thorns We squint to see through the fog We long for a small glimpse of what lies ahead BRIDGE We have only begun to see A small part of the greater glory Faith keeps us strong, our purpose veiled The weather clears and the sun shines brighter than we thought possible Soon a soft whisper promises, you will see what I see CHORUS
