Minerva came about during the summer of 2006. Band members include Jessica Schollaardt, Leela Aheer and Lauren Ireland. Together these three wrote with fervor infusing their music with complex melodic sections. Before they knew it, they found themselves captivating audiences from all over. They have played over 100 performances in their young history. Minerva’s debut CD was released in November, 2011. The title of this CD is “Follow Me” and that’s what fans did with a feverish abandon, wanting to temporarily experience the joy of Minerva’s delightful music.

Story behind the song
“Jeune” was written in dedication to a little girl who passed away tragically at the age of 6. Writing this song was therapeutic and the hope and goal was to bring happiness to all who get the privilege to listen to it and finding joy in the little things in life.
Lyrics
Jeune Music and lyrics by Leela Aheer Copyright Minerva (SOCAN) 2011 Where is the sun today? Gonna make it shine Gonna make it shine, the freckles on my nose gonna show today And where? Where? Where? Where'd your sensibility go? Did you lose it under all the pretense Did you forget what you were going to say? Maybe it's flying in the trees up with the kites or If you fall on your knees, maybe it's there on the ground The possibilities are endless, I know But it's time to show some gratitude It's time to change your point of view Where is the sun today? Gonna make it shine Gonna make it shine, and grow your heart three sizes today Where is the sun today? Gonna make it shine Gonna make it shine, the freckles on my nose gonna show today It's a hot, hot, summer day now What you worried about? See the yellow flowers grow now What you worried about? We'll fight disease, hunger and greed, We'll shout out loud, 'cause we are proud We won't forget the one who's gone Her memory lives on and on Where is the sun today? Gonna make it shine Gonna make it shine, the freckles on my nose gonna show today
