Post war, Chicago Blues house rockin' party music. (No, this ain't a rehash of the Jimmy Reed tune...)
Chicago influenced indie blues band
Story behind the song
To pay tribute to some of the fine, "Rubenesque" ladies who dance to our music at blues clubs. It seems most bands drool over the thin, leggy, runway model types, but the blues has a tradition of honoring "plus sized" women.
Lyrics
Well I said, come on people gonna have ourselves a ball.
I said, come on people gonna have ourselves a ball.
We're gonna rock this party and start tearin' down the walls.
Give me a big legged woman, I don't want no long and lean
Give me a big legged woman, I don't want no long and lean
Give me big legged woman and she'll be my boogie queen.
I said, "Stop, baby, move a little to the right."
"Slow down, baby, cause I want to last all night"
I said, "Come on baby gonna have ourselves a ball."
We're gonna rock this party and start tearin' down the walls.
Give me a big legged woman, I don't want no long and lean
Give me a big legged woman, I don't want no long and lean
Give me big legged woman and she'll be my boogie queen.
Well I said, come on people gonna have ourselves a ball.
I said, come on people gonna have ourselves a ball.
We're gonna rock this party and start tearin' down the walls.
