Story behind the song
This song was written about a girl I was too afraid to tell my feelings to. I was worried that she wouldn't like me. I suppose this song is looking back on that experience and realizing that If you never take a chance, you will always be alone. Kinda depressing but thats why I almost never play it for anyone...It just brings back too many rough memories.
Lyrics
Losing More Than a Year Winter comes again, followed by the spring Maybe this will be my greatest chance of all To tell you how I need you And all my thoughts about you I know that I’ve been growing close to you Growing ever close to you Tonight I count the ways that I become amazed At how the moonbeams gently fall across your face I lean in closer to you And I realize I’ve imagined you I’m here alone with no one in your place Yes it’s me the twinkling stars and empty space Time is quickly passing and I’m still afraid of asking To know exactly how you feel about me It’s the fear that is within me That will rob me from my heaven My heaven on this planet earth with you My happiness forever holding you I’m quickly understanding why life is so demanding There are times when I almost let it show But I keep it all inside me I’m terrified but laughing Hoping that no one around me knows Its so difficult not to let it show Summers past away, you know the warmth will never stay And the autumn wind it chills me to the core I walk alone on my beach All my dreams just always right out of reach The waves crash over me into the shore I lose myself within the oceans roar
