One of our favourite Big Sleep songs . . .recorded way back in 2004. Tony on vocals, me on instruments.

Artist picture
Big Sleep is the name of the imaginary 'band/group, that all the music I create with my friend and musical collaborator, Tony Webster goes under. Tony is pictured on the right in the photo; me on the left in the dark blue suit. Tony is an artist / illustrator, writer of lyrics and stories, song arranger and a mine of information on any subject under the sun . . . I (David A Briggs) play all the instruments (mostly of the stringed variety), perform all the studio 'jiggery-pokery', sing and dabble a little in the visual arts.

Story behind the song
A catchy Pop song. Well, we think it is :) oh, and it has a great guitar solo in the middle too. Nothing like blowing your own trumpet ! . . .well guitar obviously :) It was the red Yamaha MSG Deluxe guitar back then . . .pre 'Parker Fly' days.

Wonderful, catchy song. I love the layered guitars and the solo is really nice :) Even if it is not a trumpet... The style is very retro british pop, almost sixties sound there.. "Needles and pins" and that kind of stuff. I love it!
So catchy! A bit Beatle-y, a bit kinks-y, and all in all very cool.

Excellent radio-friendly song with loads of bits 'n' pieces that would be perfect for use on soundtracks or commercials. The lyrics are great, I like the way that you take a snippet of life and turn it into a song - the Kinks had a knack of doing that. Superb stuff.
