So The Light Was Taken By Charles J. Mcallister
And so the light was taken
that shined upon a heart,
hopes and dreams of fame and fortune slowly torn apart
a fire within a spirit, seemed that it had died
endless thoughts of what could, would never be
asking constant question, God what do you want from me
The night was oh so lonely, the stars had fallen down
I felt my eyes were closing going through another town
and in my own reflection, is where I'd see
the eyes of someone greater staring back at me
I asked again this question, God what do you want from me
My son I'm only taking, what you refuse to use
to share with everybody what I have shared with you
believing doesn't tell the things your heart knows to be true
lies are only building when no one tells the truth
to give the gift that was given, this is what I ask of you
