Lyrics
'The Midnight Hour' Copyright© 2011 by Wyman Griffith (lyrics), Nadia Cripps (music, piano, photo) and Cts (additional music, orchestration, vocals, demo). V The midnight hour approaches On stealthy, muffled feet Dim unholy visions I don't really want to see A life I'd rather not remember Another day another time Back in ancient memories When I did horrendous crimes C The midnight hour The midnight hour I always dread The midnight hour Creatures lie in wait for me They snicker at my tearful pleas All the ones that I've done wrong Back through a thousand lives Even animals I've slain Didn't know that they could cry The battles that I fought and lost And the battles that I won The only thing that counted Is that I killed in every one The midnight hour The midnight hour I always dread The midnight hour Creatures lie in wait for me They snicker at my tearful pleas How long must I keep on paying Is there no end in sight Will it go on forever This terror in the night I've offered prayers to every god That I'd ever heard their name But it's all been to no avail For every night's the same B If I'd learned a little sooner Of the price I'd have to pay I'd have never harmed a living thing But how the hour is late The midnight hour The midnight hour I always dread The midnight hour Creatures lie in wait for me They snicker at my tearful pleas
