Lyrics
Chainlink Sunset It's a cold afternoon He likes the warm concrete So he sits with his back to the wall He's lost in his thoughts He can't hear the noise Of the men playing basketball He knows pretty soon the guards will call ring in So he lights up his last cigarette And gazes out into a chainlink sunset His hands hold a book, Mojave Crossing He's already read it six times But it beats sittin' 'round listenin' to the old cons Brag about all of their crimes The prison bell rings so he gets to his feet Kinda slow, weighed down with regret And he takes one last look out into the chainlink sunset Alone in his cell he thinks 'bout his life Thinkin' maybe he'll just write a book Talkin' to the world, warning all the people Don't take all those roads that he took He wishes someday he could ride on a horse Down trails he ain't ever seen yet But you just don't ride off out into a chainlink sunset

"Sappy and sweet" well,, that's kind of like my music. Not sure why, it just comes out that way. But,, I'm a big fan of Greg, Guy, Steve, etc. So your music sits well with me. Love the harp in this song! Five stars for me.
