My very first original. It's an upbeat song about an "empty nest" couple deciding how to spend their golden years.

Story behind the song
I came up with the music over a year ago but could never come up with a melody. Then one day I was messing around with the chords and the melody just popped into my head. I then enlisted the help of a friend to get me started on the lyrics and it just snowballed from there.
Lyrics
It's been a full life, with you as my wife. And now that the kids are all grown, well baby, we're finally on our own. We could stay here and be alone or we could call the world our home. What do you say we hit that road, together. I found a drop-top Cadillac, with the fins in the back. We could hit that road in style. Don't fool me baby, I can see that smile. We could sell everything that we own travel out into the great unknown. What do you say we hit that road, together. There's nothing here to make us stay, even the cat has run away. Within hours we'll be faraway, together. So lets head off into the sun. Baby, we'll keep growing young. We'll make a wish upon our star, then fall into each other's arms. With you anywhere I'd go. But where, only Heaven knows. So lets just stay here on the road, together. The road is now our home, forever.

Hi Rob, thank you for dropping by and your lovely comment. You got one song but a great start, sounding really fine, nice sound on the acoustic too, keep up the good work and do more.
