Lake Fork Verne and his banjo. Original country and Americana songs. Songs of yesteryear, growing up during the great depression 1930's and the way things are
Just me and my banjo...writing and singing about how things used to be long ago in the 30;s and 40's and how those experiences affect today. I started out wanting to get on record these stories and songs for my grandchildren; but after doing it for a while, others have expresses interest so we are recording and putting them out there.

Lyrics
The Unwashed Copyrighted by: Verne Garrison, June 6, 2011 Valley Park, Mo Banjo tuned E, Capo 2, Key of: G Chorus: G C Oh the folly of those who think they're smarter than we G That if We would just accept their "way", don't you see C All the people would be equal in their totalality D7 G Such a dismal world, who could tell you from me? We would all think alike, but don't you see No original thoughts, except those approved by thee Only the scholarly have the capacity Their Way, is the only way to be But the halls are full of those leather elbowed coats Who ponder with their deep thoughts mixed with dusty books Making fun of the great unwashed, they squirm and gloat While we, the unwashed, tote the wheel barely a-float Oh if we the challenged ones could only understand Their deep professoral thoughts, the respect they demand Their theories that become as words written in the sand The unwashed provide the funds for them to denounce this land. Chorus:

Hey Verne! "The unwashed" Yep, that's me! Never owned a leather elbowed coat and never will. My sparse schooling days are long gone and don't miss them a bit. (my back hurts a little though) LOL Jamey P.S. I absolutely love your lyrics!
