"We arent trying to reinvent the wheel, we are just playing the music we love the best we possibly can" states Interns bassist Tony Hartman. Since their inception in February of 1999, The Interns have matured and evolved into one of Cleveland Ohio's prominent rock groups, released two EPs and a full length CD, logged tens of thousands of touring miles, performed for two consecutive years on the Vans Warped Tour, and established a very reputable local and regional fan base. That is quite a list of accomplishments for a group of twenty something's hailing from a town with one traffic light. The Interns sound is rooted in a number of different genres; rock n roll, radio pop, and new wave among others. The Cure, The Gin Blossoms, Braid, The Stryder, The Foo Fighters, and The Pixies are just a few of the bands its members can agree have influenced their sound over the years. The band's sound has been described as a blend of early nineties post punk in the vein of Braid or Sunny Day Real Estate and more modern rock n roll bands such as The Foo Fighters or the Goo Goo Dolls. Lyrically, the band deals with subjects including, but not limited too, life, love, and growing up. The Interns musical progression can be credited to their active tour schedule. Having played 100 plus dates a year, for the past two years, The Interns have been fortunate to share the stage with the likes of: Taking Back Sunday, The Ataris, Homegrown, The Lawrence Arms, Brand New, appeared on the Vans Warped Tour in addition to completing several regional tours a year. Upon the release of their self titled EP in February 2004, the Interns intend on taking their self promotion to a new level embarking on their first national tour and utilizing an already strong street team in hopes of bringing their music to anyone who might enjoy it.

Lyrics
Paint a picture of my heart Tell me what color would you start? Is it orange, or is it gray? Tell me about your family. Tell me about just what went wrong today To make you act this way. Pleasantries have never been, One of your strong suits my friend. And I can’t think of anyone Who really thinks its cute. You can say Anything you want, when you’ve got Twelve ounces of courage in each hand. More than just a good friend More than just a boy. Hope you have a good time, trying to prove me wrong. You didn’t walk, You didn’t run, You just crawled ‘cause your to drunk to see The error of your ways. I can say this now because I know were pals and I really want you to understand. And I don’t care at all. And I don’t care at all. I’ve started to think about Its never quite as comical, as the aftermath of destruction in your eyes and I know that they say one thing, but your actions they say another. I don’t want to find out that you lied to me. A yeah, yeah, yeah. Give me one time. Give me one time. I’ll open your eyes to the sweet world you left behind. Give me one time. Give me one time. I’ve got a right to say. More than just my good friend You're more than just a boy I’m gonna have a good time. I’m gonna have the best time, Trying to prove you wrong. Got a drink in this hand, a drink in that. Here’s to the good and here’s to the bad. What color would you start with Orange or Gray? Paint a picture of my heart. Tell me what color would you start? Is it orange? Or is it gray?
