An amateur Songwriter/Musician a work in progress
I've played in a few cover bands, started off playing lead guitar ended up playing bass, drums and even keyboards a few times and although it was fun never had any great success. I'm now more of an amateur song writer and trying very hard to come up with some songs that might impress someone enough to want to record them.

Story behind the song
A song about a Highway Woman and the man who loved her.
Lyrics
Raise Your Hands 1. She was Catherine by name a Lady no man could tame She was married to the Lord of the land She tended his house, by night unknown to her spouse lived the life of a highwayman. 2. She had a Medusa look and that was her hook She'd hypnotise you with those steely blue eyes Her horse rolled with the thunder, she was out for the plunder Relieving Lordship's of their golden prize C. She Cried Raise your hands, Stand and deliver Smoking pistol, the mark of her trade Raise your hands, Stand and deliver Or you'll feel the cold steel of her blade. 3. Livin life in the shadow, his love for her seemed hallow A stable boy guarded her secret well His love unrequited, he never relented For her he'd ride through the gates of hell 4. And every night as she took to her plight He'd pray my Lady come back home safe and sound With the law closing in, he begged don't go out again Pull back on the reins of this life you've found 5. By the preacher's brook, Lord Wilson she took Be quick now hand over your purse But a coachman got off a shot and ruined the plot She took off a bleeding wound she did nurse 6. She made it back alive, the boy helped her inside Knowing full well the law would soon deduce He kissed her goodbye and with a tear in his eye Rode out to take her place at the a hangman's noose.
