The realization of God can even take place while hitch hiking.
I mostly write and sing thought provoking songs of a spiritual nature. I also write songs of ecological and political protest as well as traditional folk songs.
Story behind the song
The hippies of the 60's and 70's would often spend hours by the highway with thumb outstreched.
Lyrics
C F C Am
A corner is a good place to find one’s self
Invisibly standing there with thumb outstretched
Pleading in vain, in a half humble way
To further the environment of senses my friend
F B C Am
But let me tell you about the world I’ve seen, from a half real dream
And I won’t be going back there again, my friend
Ever on guard to catch an uninfluenced pair of eyes
Catch and hold and slow down his machine
Being yourself or what he wishes you to be
Depending upon your stars my friend.
But let me till you about the places I’ve been and the emptiness within
Till freedom made a slave out of me and the wind, my friend.
Peace is upon you in a stranger’s machine,
Worry of weather of not cease
Journeying on, thinking of God,
feeling the light and the sound through out.
But let me tell you about the games I’ve played and the faces I’ve made,
Till the world around me started to spin, my friend.
Repeat first and second verses.
