Story behind the song
This is not a song about religion oddly enough on the surface you might think so. It's a big metaphor, one of the more "vague" songs I have written, but it makes perfect sense to me anyway. If you like it use it how ever you want, maybe as a religion song, I think it is pretty universal, people hear different things in different songs. All I will really say is it was written at a time I was questioning some of my choices. The recording is rough on this one, I dont think it really does the song justice (that and some limping chords) I need to re-record it the most of all my songs, but for now it's one of my fav's so I am keeping it around.
Lyrics
You have all the answers
But you find it easier
to hide behind your problems
than stand out and solve them.
I want to be God Like
Cover me in Light
I want to be Able to see
I want to be God Like
It will be all right
You'll see I will buy my Amnesty
These 4 dark walls
They grow so small
They haunt me They are me
They watch me They know me
And your so resigned to your fate
To your state
You want to be God Like
Cover us in Light
You want to be Able to see
You want to be God Like
It will be all right
You'll see You'll buy your Amnesty
For all the times I've hurt myself
For all the lies you'll see
Still haunting me
Just set me free
I want to be God Like
Cover me in Light
I want to be Able to see
I want to be God Like
It will be all right
You'll see I will buy my Amnesty
