Flashback is a 1980s retro-political, psychedelic rock band from Malibu, California. They played a mixture of Blues, Rock, and R&B with psychedelic overtones. The nucleus of the band was Billy Aylesworth (Lead Guitar, Vocals, Songwriter), Paul Saylor (Bass), Dean Karam (Drums), and Robert Mirabilio (Keyboards, Vocals, Songwriter). Eden Unger was the original Bass player. Billy was the founder of the group and served as the main songwriter, and front-man. This lineup recorded a 45 Single 'Nuclear Blues' with Rock the World on the B side. Matt "Wolf" Chazin (Drums) and Brian ODell (Percussion) joined the band on for their second single 'Made a Fool Out of Me'. Flashback was a popular live attraction on the Los Angeles club circuit throughout the 1980’s. They also played festivals in the Southern California area. Flashback disbanded in the mid-eighties, and splintered into various bands. Mirabilio and Chazin went on to form the heavy metal band TYRANNY (JCI/Warner Brothers Records). Billy Aylesworth went on to play and/or record with members of Earth, Wind & Fire, The Grass Roots, Cowboy Surfer, Rose Royce, B.T.O., folk singer Frances Plante-Scott, Billy Cowsill, and others. Bill also had success as a television writer & producer, and executive in Canada.

Lyrics
A Trip In The 80's People walking down the street, they're looking at me Say what's the matter with you boy, can't you see That what you're doing, It just ain’t right Sitting in the jungle, all day and night It's a new generation, people are free From persecution, and agony But you know you can't believe everything you read Going downtown listen to the politicians, lying through their teeth Well it's a trip in the eighties, can't you see It's a trip in the eighties, it's you and me It's a trip in the eighties, well don't you know It's a trip in the eighties, it's time to go I said I got long hair, wear funny clothes Get up at 2:00 pm, that's the ways it goes Well don't you rush me, I'm moving slow Get up in the morning feeling down, that's the way it goes Get up in the morning spend the night time smoking Blowing up my nose Well it's a trip in the eighties, can't you see It's a trip in the eighties, it's you and me It's a trip in the eighties, well don't you know It's a trip in the eighties, it's time to go It's a new generation, people are free From persecution, and agony But you know you can't believe everything you read Going downtown listen to the politicians, lying through their teeth Well it's a trip in the eighties, can't you see It's a trip in the eighties, it's you and me It's a trip in the eighties, well don't you know It's a trip in the eighties, it's time to go Music & Lyrics by Bill Aylesworth © 1983 , 2014 NALS Music (BMI)
