Death of the Party is an agit-pop rock band that casually disregards the constraints of genre, content, and respect and embraces a maniacal subversion of music, showmanship, and the laws of state and physics. Formed by the writer of Vampyr Theatre to perform a satirical rock opera about the assassination of JFK, Death of the Party evolved into a diverse unit that stomps in all musical playgrounds. Rock or rap. Dance music or atonal jams. Latin or zydeco. Death of the Party draws from its eclectic influences only to skewer them and serve them up with catchy melodies, layered harmonies, and odd time signatures. All members lend their voices to the overall sound and each vocalist brings a very different sound to the mix. Death of the Party has played clubs, bars, theaters, and independent political rallies, and their shows often feature guest performers, dancers, actors, and magicians; video projections of cartoons, news feeds, and alien autopsy footage; impromptu sports rallies; and song parodies and gospel revivals for nihilists. With a treasure trove of original songs to plunder, they vary their set lists and still find time to feature an improvised jam at most shows.
