amys confession amy fatzi
guitar-driven, female-fronted, Scripture-based songs
Although Amy Fatzinger began her singing career as a small child (check out the hidden track on the CD---circa 1977!!), her gift of song writing didn't follow until many years later. Amy considers herself an "accidental" songwriter because all of her songs have grown from intimate quiet time alone with God in His Word. These simple songs were never meant to go beyond the four walls of her bedroom; she held them each close to her heart, as they were indeed tools that the Lord used to minister His truth to her through her own mouth in times of pain and confusion...as well as times of worship and thanksgiving. Each song she has written has been inspired by the Holy Spirit and given to use as a tool to bring help and healing to Christians and non-Christians alike. Since God's Word does not return to Him void but accomplishes what He has sent it out to do, there is automatic ministry that occurs when Scripture is set to music. She believes that worship and intercession go hand- in-hand and desires to see God's precious people released from the chains of shame and condemnation through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amy's Confession hails from Athens/Atlanta, GA and, though they have known each other for many years, have only been playing together as a band for about 2 years. They are a diverse bunch from all walks of life, each bringing something very special and very unique to the CD. Each song carries the mark of the individual musician along with their experiences with the Lord. It is their collective prayer that their debut project, Paper Crowns, awakens the understanding that the Lord passionately pursues His children---no matter what the circumstances in life....His love is unshakeable and His restorative power beyond measure. He is FOR us, not against us, and we are never beyond His reach. Story behind the song
My mouth tends to get me in a lot of trouble and I was lamenting about a recent conversation I had had with my husband (I constantly pray Psalm 141:1-4 over myself!)Defeating thoughts were plaguing me and I finally decided that the best way to combat them was to DIG into the Word and see what the Lord, Himself, had to say about me. He is so good and always provides HOPE in the hopeless times. I am so thankful that His compassion NEVER fails and His mercies are new every morning! (Lam. 3:22-23)
Lyrics
Truth (Amy Fatzinger) I can't believe I'm here at Your throne again Confessing once again my mouthful of sin. I can't believe this tongue that brings You praise Is the same tiny spark that sets the forest ablaze. But Your Word says sin shall not be my master And Your Word says I've already been freed And Your Word says that I am not lacking For the power that raised Christ from the dead is living in me, Yes, the power that raised Christ from the dead is living in me. Here I am again bowing down at Your throne. I'm tired and I'm weary, I have no strength of my own. In my weakness you are strong and in dying I live And I know apart from You, I've got nothing to give. But Your Word says trust in You with my whole heart And Your Word says You will make my path straight And Your Word says You are doing a new thing You bring water to this wasteland and in this desert make a spring, You bring water to this wasteland and in the desert make a spring. And in Your Word I found a place that says You take delight in me, You will quiet me with Your love, and You rejoice over me. Oh, how I long to hear that song flowing over Your lips, And in my heart I hear the words going something like this: Child, My Word says your're the apple of My eye, And My Word says you're the reason that I died. I will leave the ninety-nine to go and get the one, And I will take you in My arms by the Blood of My Son... And you can rest in My arms, the battle's already won! Hallelujah!
