Welcome to the music of Mark Wilson. I write songs, play bass, sing, and lately... play a little fingerstyle guitar. I am also in the learning process of recording some of my songs (old and new). Hope to have some fun and create some worthwhile recordings. Best of all... "I'm gonna get by with a little help from my friends.'' So... just getting started here... more to come. A special thanks to Mike Shelton for lending his talent to this effort. His leadwork on dobro and guitar is featured on 'Take Me Back', and 'One More Reason'. Oh and one other thing. I don't have the time or intention to make this come out perfect. Hopefully, it's good enough to reward your time listening. Thanks, Mark Wilson K-Vegas, NC

Story behind the song
This song is about the eventual sameness of working in the same places and with the same faces, for many years. I started writing this after pondering an upcoming Florida trip one day at work. Only the names of the innocent needed changing...lol
Lyrics
Midnight shift on the north end floor Just another day You give them what you got and then you give a little more Just another day And in-between the sound of this machine and supper time I’ll find the time to slip away In my mind There’s a little place that I like to go Down by the gulf of Mexico The nights are warm and the days are slow And I still long to go And I’m gonna to be there If only in my mind Nancy runs the packer on the number 3 line Just another day She’s telling me a story for the second time Just another day And in between her kids and her dog and her old man and supper time I find the time to slip away In my mind There’s a place down south that I like to go On the gulf of Mexico Push in the boat and turn for the bay And I still long to get away I’m gonna be there…If only in my mind Ain’t it funny how the years are gone How they slip away Ain’t it funny how a young man’s dreams Can slowly fade to gray. And slip away Bill don’t smile when he walks the floor Just another day I guess he’s happy being boss and not much more It’s just another day And in-between the sound of this machine and supper time I’ll find the time to slip away Just another day I used to have a dream to leave this town 30 years seems a long time to stick around Live out my days with a little dignity Til they came and took it all away So I’m going to be here…Just another day
