Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
Ah, breakfast. Le petit dejeuner. Fruhstuck. Mmmm. Best meal of the day - Golden Shred, Silver Shred, Shredded Wheat, Shreddies, it's all there... As you may gather, breakfast in the Smivet household can be a little fraught at times - behind that prim suburban facade chaos and disorder reigh supreme - toast burning, dog chews up mail in a frenzy, eggs break on the floor, cat eating cornflakes, where's my shirt, dog chasing cat, music blaring, can I have some money, phone rings, I need a protractor, has anyone seen my keys. This gentle soundtrack was done for the Coconut Blues Club shred challenge April 2010, and once again big thanks to Jude Law for setting a great task to get our teeth into and do some music we wouldn't normally do.

Woah . . . thought I was listening to some prog metal band like Dream Theater. This is SO brilliant Steve. Fantastic polished production; and utterly brilliant playing and what a guitar sound. I've just turned green with guitar envy.lol

Brilliant idea and perfectly executed. Love the sense of chaos and discordance, stunning composition and arrangement - out of all the madness comes a masterpiece - excellent!
