Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
"... y un crianza por favor" is usually what I say at the end when ordering my tapas. This is dedicated to one of my favourite tipples - Rioja. Created for the Coconut Blues Club "Spanish Challenge" Nov 09 and as usual deepest thanks to Jude Law for dreaming up another off-the-wall genre to test us. It's so much fun doing these and getting into musical areas you wouldn't normally stray near.

quote . . ."You've hidden your guitar virtuosity from us". I so agree with this previous comment. This is true, you are so very versatile. The 'boot' stamping and clapping gives this a very Spanish 'flavour'. The crisp electric and acoustic guitar sounds are brilliant.

I thought i had commented this one, sorry.. It feels very festive and original from the northern spanish cross with celtic influences. Great instrumentals.

Incredible! I'm always amazed at the diversity of music on your page..and all of the songs always sound authentic and very well performed and produced. First class Spanish track - it really captures the flavour of this style of music.
