Imagine a marching band trundling a Hammond B3 along... Oh and a Minimoog.

Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
A topic that we all have to face sooner or later, hopefully this hasn't turned out to be too maudlin. Again featuring the Out-Of-Tune Choir and a shed load of synths.
Lyrics
Her eyes are brimmed with sorrows Falling on the empty chair And her heart is raging At the one who should be there "Oh how could you leave me, And all these things I have to do? Left to me as usual to Make arrangements without you." They met in the 80s As the Brixton fires burned Then a house and children Every year a lesson learned Strong they grew together Closer with the passing days He to know her changes She accustomed to his ways Was it slow or sudden? Looking back it's hard to tell. Should they have seen it sooner, Seen that he was so unwell? Then his final passing Absolutely crushes her. Just because it's expected Doesn't make it any easier. Don't give up Stay strong You've lost the singer Not the song We'll be together Eternally Because you know I'll live forever As long as you remember me. Her eyes are brimmed with sorrows Falling on the empty chair And her heart is aching For the one who should be there "Oh how could you leave me, And all these things I have to do? Left to me as usual to Make arrangements without you." Don't give up Stay strong You've lost the singer Not the song We'll be together Eternally Because you know I'll live forever As long as you remember me. Life goes on Undaunted You to be happy Is what I wanted Through the bad times Do this one thing for me Because you know I'll live forever As long as you remember me.

As I listened, I read these incredlbly sad lyrics and couldn't hold back the tears. A grim reminder of what Mum went though... Brilliantly done.... hugs, Kristy

An unusual piece. Compelling melody in this one. Once played in a band with a B3, you'd need a marching band to shift the bloody thing.

Your compositional skills and ideas are second to none! This is an arrangement that George Martin would be proud of. Brilliant stuff, unique, unusual and expertly produced and performed. Your songs always have that edge - a sad tale, handled with great skill.

Imagine pushing along a Hammond organ with a marching band ! well, I guess this pretty much captures that. By the way, where would you 'plug it in' ? Love the sound of this one.
